And finds hemp stalks that are hermaphrodites...

But hemp that has both separate male and female industrial hemp stalks.

When a cross section is taken of a hemp stalk one can find:

1. A hollow inner core
2. Hurd (core), which is the majority of the stalk
3. Bast fiber, which surrounds the hurd

American Hemp split open this stalk to expose hemp's raw bast fibers and hurd.

American Hemp demonstrates various sizes of unprocessed hurd.

After the hemp stalks are processed (decorticated), the hurd can be made into hempcrete, hemp plaster, animal bedding, packaging materials, or paper.

After the hemp stalks are processed (decorticated), the bast fibers can be used in textiles, bioplastics, biocomposites, and nanotechnologies.
